About CTC Wessex

CTC Wessex is a member group of the Cyclists’ Touring Club (CTC) that has now re-branded as Cycling UK (CUK).  The club has a rich tradition of organising cycle touring for more than 100 years and the weekly Rides remain highly popular for riders of all ages and abilities.  The Rides List details the starts and destination for each week, you can get a feel for type of ride from the descriptions on their listings page, or use the contact details listed there to talk to the ride organiser to find one that suits you.  We know that there is a demand for women’s only rides and we are currently working on offering these in the near future.  We don’t currently organise a racing programme at the club, the only competition on our rides is against the terrain and the elements, however for those looking for a pacier ride, the groups’ speeds range up to 16mph average. Everyone is welcome to join our Rides for a few rides to get to know us, however if planning to attend on a regular basis we ask that you join CTC/CUK.

The club also organises the annual New Forest Gridiron, a hugely popular 100km Audax-type ride through the New Forest.  The ride is typically held on the second Sunday in October, and show-cases the spectacular autumn colours of the forest.  Places fill up quickly, to book yours go to the online application form.
