NAME CHANGED TO SOUTH HANTS DA 22.2.1916 : Area extended to 30 miles radius of Southampton and exclusive of the Isle of Wight.
NAME CHANGED TO WESSEX DA 9.2.1924 : Area extended and became those portions of Dorsetshire, Wiltshire, Hampshire and Sussex bounded by a line drawn through West Lulworth, Shaftesbury, Amesbury, Andover, Alton, Petworth, and Littlehampton, and the line of the South Coast, and including towns and villages on the boundary line.

EXTENSION OF AREA 6.9.1926 : The whole of the county of Dorset; that portion of the county of Wiltshire bordered on the West by a line drawn at a radius of 30 miles of Bristol, and on the north by a line running from the radial line along the Devizes-Andover road; and the county of Hampshire south of a line drawn at a radius of 20 miles from Reading and West of the line recently settled as the Western boundary of the Portsmouth D.A.
REDUCTION OF AREA 1975 : Southampton Section split to form Southampton DA (later South Hants DA).
NEW BOUNDARIES 1980 : In line with National CTC policy, DA boundaries become defined by Post Code regions laid out in Wessex DA Constitution 2002.

NAME CHANGED TO CTC WESSEX MEMBER GROUP 29.11.2008 upon adoption of the CTC policy to change the DA structure to member groups.
CONSTITUTION REVISED to reflect new Member Groups.
MEMBER GROUP SPLIT 17.11.2011 CTC West Dorset became autonomous by vote, but CTC Blackmore Vale and CTC Salisbury became autonomous in effect by the nature of the new member group structure but wish to remain associated with CTC Wessex. CTC Bournemouth took the name of CTC Wessex Cycling in the centenary year. It retains responsibility for the uncontrolled area of the old Yeo-Valley. Covering all BH postcodes & DT11, plus BA20,21,22, TA10 to TA20. A new constitution drafted but not published.
LATER REVISIONS When CTC instituted the trading name of Cycling UK to much criticism, CTC Blackmore Vale left to be an affiliated club as a result. CTC Wessex Cycling remained as a Member Group after discussion, and took back all the Postcode Areas of Salisbury and Blackmore Vale not out of any conflict with those groups but to retain their coverage by a CTC Group. The Constitution was revised to reflect these changes and was ratified at the 2017 AGM.
