Go through to our Rides list and check out the runs that match your current riding style.  If you’re not sure which run to choose, contact the ride organisers who will be happy to advise you on the type of rides coming up with their group.  All our rides are free to join, however after three rides with us, we will request that you join the national organisation Cycling UK to continue riding with us.

You will need a well-maintained bike suitable for road cycling, we rarely go off-road so Mountain Bikes are not really suitable except on the shortest of rides.  A wide selection of gears is also recommended to adapt to the beautiful, but rarely flat, Wessex countryside.  Clothing and shoes appropriate to the weather, and some essentials (listed here) to ensure we can get you home.  We recommend you wear a cycling helmet, however this is not compulsory.

Contact the ride leader (their details are on their rides’ page) and let them know you will be joining.  Although we ride in all weathers, occasionally ride leaders will need to cancel if weather conditions could present a danger to rider’s safety, and they will then be able to let you know if the ride is no longer going ahead.

We ride on the quiet country lanes in the Wessex area (Dorset, Hampshire, Somerset and Wiltshire) and our experienced ride leaders plan rides on roads well away from heavy traffic.  Most rides head to a Café stop for morning coffee, and longer ones will include a lunch and afternoon stop as well.  If you prefer you could also opt to bring your own refreshments and enjoy the wonderful Wessex countryside whilst you re-fuel.
